A highly collectable and finely detailed model from Corgi’s Aviation Archive series, reproduces one of Americas most closely guarded secrets from the Vietnam war, the Super Constellation USAF 552nd AEW.

The U.S Air Force converted thirty ex-Navy EC-121Ks and EC-1221Ps into EC-121Rs. They had serial numbers 67-21471 to 67-21500. The ray-domes and the AEW equipment were removed and they were used as airborne relay stations to detect and transmit signals from air dropped seismic devices deployed behind enemy lines. Based at Korat RTAFB Thailand, the Rs processed highly sensitive data received from Beech QU-22Bs, which were relayed from seismic devices (called ADSID) planted along the Ho Chi Minh Trail
