Dragon T-34/85 Mod Germany Army Poland 1944. 60249Dragon T-34/85 Mod Germany Army Poland 1944 The design and construction of the tank were continuously refined during the war to improve effectiveness and decrease costs. In late 1943, the improved T-34/85 was introduced with a more powerful 85mm gun and a three man turret design. Using the Soviet style nomenclature, ‘model 1944’ distinguishes the minor improvements made to the original T-34/85. Model 1944 improvements included a simpler ZiS-S-53 85mm gun, radio moved from the hull into a turret with improved layout and new gunner’s sight. Very few captured T-34/85’s were pressed into service by the German Army as the German Office wanted to examine and test their new acquisition. In mid 1944, 5th SS Panzer Division ‘Wiking’ pressed the T-34/85 into service on the Vistula front near Warsaw. The Dragon Armor 1:72 scale series is a great scale to collect, the attention to detail is superb offering exceptional quality at a great price. Models are presented on a plinth and packaged in an acrylic display case. Length is measured for the body only and excludes the gun barrel.
